| NANOTECHNOLOGY H-INDEX LIST IN SPAIN |
This list has been elaborated by using the scientists listed in the public data base of NanoSpain (http://www.nanospain.org). We have also added other scientists not listed there that have a trajectory in this field. The h-index, the number of times cited and the number of articles have been obtained by using the ISI Web of Knowledge (Web of Science Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-EXPANDED) --1899-present). There are some cases where the author's name is not unique. In those cases, we have looked for the articles that match the same name and address. In many cases we have also checked the thematic consistence among the articles attributed to a given scientist. Nanotechnology is an interdisciplinary field with contributions from scientists with different backgrounds. However, the h-index shows significant variations across disciplines, for that reason, we also include a normalized h-index (J.E. Iglesias, C. Pecharroman, Scientometrics 73, 303 (2007)). Here, we simplify the normalization to three major disciplines (physics=1, chemistry=0.92 and biology=0.60). The search for h-index has been helped by comparing the results from ‘el índice h de los mejores investigadores españoles’ (http://indice-h.webcindario.com/).
